St David's Day at Elva Gymnasium Vaadatud 811 korda06. märts 2017
On 1 March 2017, sixteen 4-member teams from different schools in Tartu County gathered in Elva to celebrate St David's Day. One might ask: why should Estonian children celebrate the Welsh holiday? The answer is: when learning a language we should also get to know the culture of the countries where the language is spoken. As there had already been similar events at Elva Gymnasium about Scotland and Ireland, and similar events at Rannu Gymnasium about the United Kingdom, this year it was Wales' turn.
The participants in the event took part in the quiz about the Welsh culture and customs, geography, music, geography and history. The students from Luunja with 27 points got the first place, the students from Rannu and Elva shared II -III place with 26 points.
